Apparently, authors must not only write stories, but should also entertain people with a blog.

This is something I’ve tried before and, for some reason, I just stopped… a lot like those diaries I swore I’d write in every single day as a teen. Yeah, didn’t work back then either.

But you know what? I wanna start this up again, in the hopes that it’ll stick this time.

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Katleen, but I do like to be called Kat, so let’s go with that. I used to work as a graphic designer… now I consider myself a writer although it’s mostly for myself.

And you guys, of course.

Writing has always been a big part of my life, even if for most years it sat in the backseat. Too much work and the rapidly dwindling of inspiration. Until I couldn’t work anymore (I’ll talk about that in a future post) and needed something to come out of my funk.

It’s fan fiction that kinda saved my life, of all things. Not only did I find my inspiration again, it did help me better my English writing skills… or so I like to think.

Because that’s another thing you might like to know about me: I’m not a native English speaker. As a French Canadian, I was born and raised in French but immersed real early in English… mostly thanks to my dad who insisted that I sit and watch Sesame Street while growing up. Which I did with great pleasure.

And now, after many years of “practicing” my craft, I feel confident enough to share my “real” work. If you look at the sidebar, you’ll find a link to my Inkitt profile page. There’s a couple of short stories and that one work in progress, my novel, for which I publish two chapters a week.

I agree, this is quite the boring first entry… and I’m gonna have to cut it short anyway because I have to leave. The next post, hopefully tomorrow, should be much more interesting.

I’ll make sure of it!

In the meantime, if you wanna ask me questions, please feel free to do so. I do not intend on ignoring anyone…

So, you go and have a marvelous Sunday and I’ll see you again tomorrow!
