WHEN A WRITER CAN’T WRITE

I wish I had the means to pay someone to do all that other crap so I could just be writing. Come on, J.K., tell me your secrets. (I don’t think that woman does anything herself anymore. I mean… why would she? I certainly wouldn’t. 😬)

Every night, I go to bed with the intent to write the next day. Sadly, when I wake up, other choices need to be made. And I never have the energy for EVERYTHING I want to do.

💜

This weekly newsletter will be short and sweet, mostly because I don’t really have goodies for you this week. Nothing exclusive, anyway.

I was thinking about sharing an excerpt of my upcoming novel; just a little peek inside the book. I may do this in the coming weeks, but right now, I would still like to keep some of the mystery alive.

Also, I’ve been doing a whole lot of stuff around the house this week, and now it’s Thursday, and I’m tired. But I still have some “news” about my writing, if that’s the reason you’re here.

I “finally finalized” my manuscript. It was done, but I had to go back in to make some stuff a bit more realistic, then resend it. Now, it’s done (I have to deny myself the urge to open and fiddle with it again), and I’ve sent it to my proofreader.

She made me promise I wouldn’t touch it anymore! Not until I hear back from her, that is. 🤣

So now, I wait. She is scheduled to start working on it on November 1st, and it may take between 2 and 3 weeks for it to be done. I am hoping that I’ll be able to send everything final to my chosen publisher, Amazon, by December 1st. They’ll be the ones typesetting the whole thing.

There was a moment in time when I could have done this myself. If I had no issue designing the cover art, I feel typesetting a whole manuscript needs more attention than I’d be able to give it. My attention span has dwindled a whole lot in the last few years, so I know I would miss a ton of stuff.

But I will still need to check and approve the thing. You know, make sure everything is where I want it to be. I’m very worried about missing something important. 😬

So, anyway, those are the news for THE SALVATION OF JUDAS

As far as the REDWATER CREEK series go, I still haven’t gone back to Volume 1 (THE BOOK OF AVERY) for weeks now. I’m about 2/3 in, and I can’t wait to be done with that first draft. Hopefully, I’ll be done before Judas comes back from proofreading.

Once Judas will be with the Amazon peeps for typesetting, I should be able to work on Volume 2, THE BOOK OF JUSTICE (a prequel to Avery’s story). This one is almost finished, too, but I need to change so much of it that I’ll basically need to rewrite the thing.

I hope your week goes swimmingly. Take care of yourself, and I’ll see you again next week. With a goody? Maybe!

If you have questions or stuff you’d like to see, just let me know, I could include that in an upcoming newsletter.
